Description

Inspired and challenged by my friend, Uwe, (see here: Sh2-200 (LBN 674, PK 138+04.1, PN HaWe 2) in HOO-RGB ( Uwe Deutermann ) - AstroBin), I attempted to give my best shot at imaging the planetary nebula, SH2-200.  I found this to be the most difficult object to date for me to do (yes, even more so than the recent M76 version I posted) given it is not very bright, making processing a challenge.  There are many versions of this PN posted on Astrobin and one will note the many hours required to get a fairly grainy-free image.  As for the object itself, Sh2-200 was discovered in 1983 by the astronomers Herbert Hartl, Johann Dengel and Ronald Weinberger.  In 1987, further narrowband observations detected a large faint outer halo extending further than the central shell.  However, it wasn't confirmed to be a true genuine planetary nebula until 2017.
