Description

IC418 is a rather small planetary nebula in Lepus. For this reason, it is not imaged that much, but it was made famous by the Hubble Space Telescope which showed complex textures in the surrounding nebula which resulted in the name "The Spirograph Nebula". Of course, the image I have taken contains none of this detail, but you can still make out the central white dwarf star at its centre. The cropped image shows this in a bit more detail when you mouse over the image.
