Description

Imaged the northeastern quadrant of the first quarter moon (45.8% illuminated) in this long focal length panorama captured the evening of July 16, 2021 (July 17th in UTC).  The seeing and transparency were excellent (for my location at least!) this night and I was able to nail focus better then usual which resulted in some of my best 'hi-res' (for my equipment) lunar imaging.  This one is worth zooming in on and I'm going to post a few local regions that picked out features better than I have been able to in previous efforts.

Imaged with a C8 Evo, ZWO ADC, Baader 685nm IR pass filter, and ZWO ASI174MM. Imaging train was configured to give ~F/20 (~0.18 arcsec/pixel). Image capture using Firecapture with gain set at 250 and an exposure of 12.5 ms. Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 25% of 1000 frames). Mosaic generated from 26 panels using Microsoft Image Explorer. Wavelet sharpening and histogram adjustment in Registax6.
