Description

The supernova remnant immersed in the nebulosity of the constellation of Cygnus.
It appears as a delicate and intertwined structure composed mainly of hydrogen together with an oxygen bubble (blue). The diffused nebulosity clearly highlights the distribution of the other elements such as sulfur, hydrogen and oxygen.
Although the image was obtained in narrowband with Ha, OIII and Be filters all at 3 nanometers, I experimented with a new method for a dynamic and separate approach, processing differently the main nebula and the surrounding field. I worked the diffuse nebula in the Hubble Palette modified (to obtain colors more similar to a classic rgb) and the supernova remnant in HOO being the sulfur component almost absent here. This permitted to get the best of both methods in the same photograph. A complex and time-spending process but ultimately very effective. One of the longest post-processing work I ever did but I am satisfied by the result especially the high resolution inside the 6888.
Astro-Physics 180EDT telescope, focal length 1735mm. 0.54 arcsec sampling per pixel.
