Description

I recently visited friends in Colorado and had an amazingly clear night at the Denver Astronomical Society's EGK Dark Site.  Wow.. just wow!  I took images for many hours, everything I did being experimental / new.  This is the first one I have finished processing.  I'm very happy with it, elongated stars and all!  The core of the Milky Way rises to the South East of the dark site in what I believe is the Colorado Springs light bubble.  The foreground is the entrance to the dark site, a gravel road framed by some wooden fence bits.  I took this with a Sigma 20mm lens at f/1.4 (wide open) and a modified Canon T2i.  The images were taken on a tripod and I got as much of the sky as I could before hitting limits of that setup.  It was stunning to see with the naked eye.  It's amazing after processing a panel of single subs!  Hope you enjoy
