Description

Here is my attempt at the Ha emission nebula Sh2-180 to be shown together with Sh2-173.
I was inspired on Sh2-180 by the wonderful renditions of Equinoxx and Gary Imm.
This is where I first became aware of this rarely imaged object.

Sh2-180 has a much lower luminosity than Sh2-173.
In order to better distinguish Sh2-180 from the overall red background, I invested another 10x600s exposure time with my f/4 Newton.
SII (orange mapped) was only visible on the right outer edge of Sh2-173 and just below left of Sh2-173.
An OIII emission appeared only in the planetary nebula Ou2 (Outters II).
Ou2 was first discovered by French astronomer Nicolas Outters in November 2010.
