Description

Moon at 86% illuminated.

And clouds. Lots of them rolling through. What to do?

Try to shoot the Moon having this scenery in place.

An easy task. One might think. But nonetheless!

First fiddling with the parameters. But changing them is like shooting at a moving target. Literally!

Decided to fix them at 1/20secs @ ISO 1600. Aiming at some structures in the clouds. But not that easy.

Then, decided to remove the extender to arrive at the primary focus. 900mm @ f7,5.

Wanted more clouds. Not just the Moon. The "Full Spectrum Reflector",  as @Markus Wirth was describing that guy most recently. Love that notation!

So I was sitting outside. 7°C.  Waiting for gaps in the clouds. Or better stated: for thinner clouds.

Since I found that this brownish octane color gives the scenery that something special!

So what was I aiming at? The Moon with clouds, the clouds revealing some structures instead of being fuzzy blobs, and in the right coloring at best.

Quite a few constraints.

Well, I produced 393 shots from 8pm to 10pm.

And here's the one that came close to what I wanted to shoot.

To be continued...

Thanks for watching!
