I've been having problems with my CEM25P when dithering, where the Dec would sometimes take minutes to recover, even though I've tightened the belt up to reduce backlash and meshed the gears together but it didn't seem to help with this so I decided to test this new method when there was a brief night of clear skies just on a random area in Cygnus.
I only just recently started using the advanced sequencer in N.I.N.A so I thought I'd try something; rather than taking a set amount of exposures, I'd create a loop where an exposure is taken, then a dither is issued but then I'd stop the guiding and then re-start it. I also set the dither timeout to 15 seconds as really there didn't need to be much time between exposures, just the settling of the mount.
This worked perfectly and it was as if each dither had recovered near instantly, and every exposure had round stars, this is an example of it below...
