Description

Got away to the desert this weekend (Joshua Tree!) and got one clear night of Bortle 2+ viewing (under a nearly full moon, but otherwise great viewing conditions)!

Although I've been trying out my new Hyperstar (with EdgeHD 9.25) and an OSC for a few weeks off and on, this was first-light of my EdgeHD and the Hyperstar combined with the ASI2600MM Pro.  Although using the manual filter drawer is not ideal, I'm pretty happy with the initial results so far!  

Since time is limited, I focused on just two targets while there:  this is the first --  IC 1805 -- the Heart Nebula, in narrowband.  This image is just a little over an hour for each filter.  I'm blown away by the amount of detail for such a relatively short capture time.

Although I like the traditional Hubble palette, I really wanted more red in the Heart nebula (Since it is a heart!).  I used Ludo's technique for non-linear channel combination described here, and I really like the outcome:
