Description

The night of 26 July 2023 the wind was too intense to expose my 200/1000 Newtonian. I risked instead with my smaller 80 mm refractor that proved in the past to be pretty stable, also thanks to three sand bags placed each on a tripod's leg.

The area portrayed features the three blue globules in the middle as main actors. Looking better, this is the star formation region Avedisova 1063 (G 80.25 +2.74) that includes the blue globs that are the reflection nebulae VdB 131, VbB 132, NGC6914 and the cute feather-shaped reflection nebula GN 20.22.7, associated with the emission line star HBC 694 , placed just south east VdB 131. The whole dark formation reminds me of LDN 673 in Aquila, with the one here more spectacular.

It is nice to get back to using this neat refractor after a few previous nights with the shorter Samyang 135, which, by the way, I am currently overhauling in order to fix excessively elongated stars.
