Description

A dark nebula, a cute little galaxy,  and a hint of red nebulosity all in this strange part of the constellation Cepheus.
I was looking at possibly framing up an image of the galaxy when I noticed this huge dark dust cloud known as B150 or The Dark Seahorse.
It really popped out from the faint dust and is part of a dark molecular cloud within our own Milky Way Galaxy. So it is pretty close!

The Fireworks galaxy is designated NGC6946 and is a face on spiral galaxy over 22.5 million lights years away.

Imaged with the Redcat51  and a colour camera over 3 nights, guided on a CEM26 mount for 20 hours of 180s subexposures. Calibrated with flats darks and darks flats. Processed using the Adam Block Dark nebula tutorial.
