Description

NGC-147 and NGC-185 are dwarf spheroidal galaxies about 2.58 and 2.08 millionlight-years
away in the constellationCassiopeia.  NGC 147 and 185 are members of the Local group of
galaxies
and are satellite galaxies of the Andromeda Galaxy (M31).   Unlike most dwarf elliptical
galaxies, NGC 185 contains young stellar clusters, and star formation in recent past. NGC 185
has an active galactic nucleus and is usually classified as a type 2 Seyfert galaxy.
They are separated by approximately 35,000 light-years.
