Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is a spiral galaxy located 70 million light years away in the constellation of Fornax at a declination of -30 degrees. It spans 5 arc-minutes in our apparent view.  This corresponds to a diameter of 100,000 light years.

The disk is fairly diffuse but does have some interesting subtle structure upon close inspection.  The galaxy is disturbed somewhat, with the core offset to the upper right side of the image.  Several pseudo-rings are apparent.  I was not able to capture much color in this disk.
