Description

After a long period of cloudy skies I finally got a chance to re-visit one of my favorite deep sky objects. Seeing a picture of the Rosette nebula got me fascinated in astrophotography many years ago. Though it was not until 2 decades later that I finally had the resources to practice this wonderful hobby myself. The Rosette nebula, with its beautiful symmetry, the fine nebula structures, and the open star cluster in the center adding some subtle diffraction spikes, is still one of my most beloved objects. Thankfully it is relatively large, bright, and accessibly from my location. Since I have pictured it several times before in natural palettes, this rendition in the Hubble palette highlights the difference between the different narrow bands a bit more.
