Description

NGC 225 is an open star cluster in the constellation of Cassiopeia. Its stars are embedded in rich clouds of interstellar dust since it sits right in the galactic plane of the Milky Way. Some of the bright blue stars illuminate the dust clouds and make them appear blue while most of the rest of the field appears in the typical greyish-brownish tone of the massive dust clouds. The tentacle-shaped blue dust clouds seem to get their shape from strong stellar winds emanating from the hot blue stars in the center of the cluster.
