Description

f = 909 mm and F = 4.5 Newtonian image.  6.5h of SII,  7.5h of OIII and 3.75h of HA under Bortle 6 skies  with stars from 1.5h of OSC RGB imaging.

The two versions differ only in that processing of the final version included use of the RC-Astro AI  software BlurXt and NoiseXT

The soul nebula is about 7000 ly distant and some useful notes on this region that set it into a wider context of a huge 600 ly region along with IC1805 are here Cassiopeia OB 6 Association: Part II (IC 1848, Cr 32, W 5, Sh2-199, 'Soul Nebula') ( Daniel Erickson ) - AstroBin.   Of particular note - HD 17505 , an O6V multiple star is the main ionizing component in the entire region.

It is interesting (although expected) to see how the hot blue (OIII) is found at the nebula core around the main giant type O ionising stars in the IC1848 star cluster -- and that there is also a secondary centre of ionisation towards the lower right of the image.  The S2 signal provides 3D information since it marks the less dense ionisation edge.
