Description

A second attempt with the Samyang/183C combo at f2. This time the rosette,  in just 22 minutes. For some reason Siril was not happy calibrating and stacking this set, so used Han Klein’s excellent ASTAP. Processed in Siril with Starnet extraction and recomposition. No change to set up from my last image, and stars still wonky. I am impressed with the amount of nebulosity, and stars look a little better with less stretch. For a lovely clean and natural image, see @Björn image here. If you ever doubted the power of AI tools for 'improving' your astro images, I've loaded up the original basic recomposition as mouseover - the final image after use of Deep Sky Details Astrosharp and Astroclean (denoise) - 'night and day', or should that be 'day and night!'
