International Space Station Slow Scan TV Reception on 145.800 MHz: Expedition 66 - ARISS Series 19 - Lunar Exploration

Description

The International Space Station can be enjoyed during bright daylight or under clouds by just using the right part of the electromagnetic spectrum!

During the period of December 26 – 31 the ARISS (Amateur Radio on the International Space Station) team will be supporting SSTV (Slow Scan TV) operations from the ISS. The images will be related to lunar exploration. Planned start and stop times are currently listed as:

Start: Dec 26 about 18:25 UTC
Stop: Dec 31 about 16:15 UTC

The transmissions should be available worldwide on 145.800 MHz. The planned mode is PD 120. [Source]

This is a fun project for anyone who has a portable radio capable receiving the 2-meter amateur radio band. Besides the dedicated transceivers, even a cheap software-defined radio and a whip antenna should suffice for receiving the images sent from the ISS. Use your favorite ISS passes prediction website (e.g., Heavens Above)  and your SSTV decoding software and submit SSTV reception reports here.
