Description

A capture from last night of the beautiful Cygnus Loop.  In this picture you can see the Eastern Veil, Pickering's triangle, NGC6960 the Western Veil, also known as the "Witch's Broom", 6974, 6977, 6995. The Cygnus Loop (radio source W78, or Sharpless 103) is a large supernova remnant in the constellation Cygnus about 2,500 light years away, in an emission nebula measuring nearly 3° across. Some arcs of the loop, known collectively as the Veil Nebula or Cirrus Nebula, emit in the visible electromagnetic range.  The supernova occurred about 21,000 years ago.  Captured with my Radian Raptor 61 widefield telescope, ZWO ASI294MCpro camera, 100 subs of 90 seconds at 300 gain, taken from my light polluted garden, no filter, full (but low) Moon. I'll add more subs another night.
