Description

This is part of Lynds' bright nebula complex. It contains Lynds' dark nebulae 1295 and 1296, as well as Tokyo Gakugei University catalogue entry H809.
This dark cloud reminds me of the Brontosaurus scene in Jurassic Park, with one of the dinosaurs standing on it's hind legs to reach for leaves in a tree. If you turn the image 90 degrees counter clockwise, you'll probably see it too.

Data for this image was collected during a few unexpected imaging opportunities with intermittent high cloud and ground fog. The brightest stars have soft halos because of this.
