Description

Planetary Season has begun for me. And boy, I am rusty. I spent so much time with all the basics of aligning, adjusting and connecting the software that I did not have enough time for a decent collimation with MetaGuide anymore.

I managed to capture two 4min videos of Saturn. Seeing was soso and the rising sun prevented a third video. What I take from this is a) to always check and align your red-dot-finder as the first thing and b) that a motor focus rocks!

Above is a 20% stack of 11k frames across 240s. With Barlow and ADC the scope was at 4750mm focal length (making it f/24) - slightly oversampled. Data is rescaled from 0.16"/px to 0.19"/px for better sampling (equivalent to f/20 and 4000mm focal length). Processed in AS!3, RegiStax, AstroSurface and AffinityPhoto.

Color balance is not so good. Sunrise really messed this up - my usual routines did not work so well this time.
