Description

NGC 4725 is maybe one of the nicest ringed galaxies in the sky.   It displays lots of detail, and the field has several other galaxies in it.   There's an interacting galaxy with a tidal tail, and a nice smaller spiral.   This field is well deserving of more time, and I'll grab many more frames to showcase this object in the future.

Wikipedia describes this object as an intermediate barred spiral with a prominent ring.  Strong star forming regions are evident in the arm(s), with some ionized hydrogen being evident by pink regions in the arm.    The outer diffuse arms are more classic.  Several much smaller galaxies are also in the field.   NGC 4725 is the brightest member of the Coma 1 galaxy group.
