Description

This was shot at a club star party at Hancock Field Station operated by OMSI. It was a a beautiful site with great conditions for the nights that we were there. I look forward to going back again in the spring.

Sadly, though I shot the same target for both nights, the first night of data was corrupted and unusable. Thankfully, the dark skies saved me and provided a strong signal to work with.

Separate RGB channels
LinearFit on R
StarAlignment thin plate splines, G as reference
Recombine RGB channels
NoiseXterminator through luminance mask to protect highlights
MaskedStretch
StarXterminator
Save Starless and Stars for PS
Separate RGB channels
Save R for PS
Create PseudoLuminance from 40% R, 30% G, 30% B, save for PS
PixelMath - R=R, G=R*.6+(B*.5+G*.5)*.4, B=B*.5+G*.5
Save StarlessNB for PS
