Description

Planetary Nebula SH2-290 or Abell 31 in the constellation Cancer. Despite being one of the largest planetary nebulae, it has low brightness and more signal should certainly be collected than that used in this photo (about 10 hours). about 2,000 light years away it appears to be very "ancient". The gases expanded so much that they began to disperse into the surrounding interstellar medium.
Esprit 150 telescope - ASI 2400 camera with 4 nm OPT quad band narrowband filter.
