Description

I've posted a traditional SHO version of this object as the original image. While it produces an interesting take on the object, it's not terribly revealing as to chemical structure.

So the second revision is in the HoSS palette developed by the extremely talented @Chad Leader to great effect. The red channel is 50% Ha and 50% O3 and the green and blue channels are both S2. The thing I found most interesting about this is that it produces an image that makes the Jellyfish look very much like the objects in the Cygnus Loop.

You can see how Chad executes this palette here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P90J1xKgxOs

And the final revision is an even more creative palette that I think reveals a great deal more chemistry in this object than we might normally see. This is an HO/SH/SO palette, with the data in each channel mixed at 50% each.

I fully expect to be accused of creating art instead of science with these, but I would disagree to the extent that I'm actually capable of producing any science at all. The dominance of different colors in different parts of the image coming through as a result of these palette mixtures conveys more information than the tradition SHO renderings.
