Description

LoTr5 or Longmore-Tritton 5 is a faint planetary nebula of moderate size (8.3 arcmin) in Coma Berenices. It lies at a distance of about 1650 light years. It is unusual in that it is a binary system and it has even been suggested that it is a triple system. It is also the planetary with the highest galactic latitude. There are several papers available on this nebula and it's star system (see links below), a  rapidly rotating G-type star and a hot companion that is ionizing the nebula, largely in the O3, hence the teal color.

There are a number of small background galaxies in the field of view as well.
