Description

This object is an open star cluster located 10,000 light years away in the constellation of Cassiopeia at a declination of +59 degrees. The cluster width in our apparent view is 5 arc-minutes which corresponds to a true width of 15 light years.

I like the variety of orange, blue and white stars in this cluster. I also like how the blue stars seem to appear in clumps while the orange stars appear to be somewhat more isolated.

This cluster is only 1 degree away from the famous open star cluster NGC 457 (the ET/Owl Cluster).
