Description

NGC1532 is a barred spiral galaxy commonly called Haley's coronet located in the constellation of Eridanus. Interacting with this galaxy is NGC1531 which is a dwarf galaxy. Arp and Madore classified these interacting galaxies AM 0410-32 and placed them in category 1a. This category contains galaxies which "appear to deviate significantly from equilibrium forms. For each there is a smaller galaxy close by, which either appears to be causing the perturbation, or is itself distorted. By implication the two disturbances are connected".   This is an LHaRGB image captured over 2 nights while testing my new Ioptron CEM70 mount.
