Description

NGC 2903 is a barred-spiral galaxy located about 30 million light-years away in the constellation Leo under the Lion's head.

It is one of the brightest northern galaxies not included in the list of bright deep-sky objects cataloged by Charles Messier. The dim patch located above NGC2903 is irregular galaxy PGC 27115, a.k.a. UGC 5086, with several other tiny distant galaxies also visible in the background.
