Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is a planetary nebula located 8100 light years away in the constellation of Taurus at a declination of +20 degrees.  This magnitude 16 PN spans 1 arc-minute in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of 2.4 light years.  It was confirmed to be a planetary nebula in 1935 by Walter Baade.

The PN is dominated by oxygen and has a fair amount of hydrogen in the inner region.  The blue progenitor star is clearly visible.  The PN has a faint outer rim and a bright mid-region rim.
