Description

I figured this was a good area to try PI's new SpectroPhotometricColorCalibration process for the first time.   Lots of hoops and learning to get the star and star color datasets into PI's Gaia process, 74gigs worth (which I put on a local slave drive)!  Then learned how to plate solve in PI to load the image's FITS Header information...a must to use SPCC and a bit tricky with this image.  Once you do this, just for fun, you can use PI's cool script to AnnotateImage script (under Render).  Now you're finally good to go with SPCC.  Learned that the image must be linear to use.  After all this, you end up with the true star color!  I'm sure next time will be 4x quicker with 10x my goal 🤪.   From then I used BXT, EZ Soft Stretch, NXT, SXT, SCNR and curves on the background.  Hope you all enjoy the journey this marathon of a hobby can be as much as I do.   I followed a YouTube "University" class by @Adam Block,  here.  Thank you Adam!  couldn't do it without your help.

IC166 is really a lovely cluster.  It's not centered as I also wanted to get that little open cluster at the top right of the image...which didn't plate solve in PI or Astrobin.

Description: SCNR green removed. Thanks for sharp eyes of Pete and Gary. The PI folks say don't use SCNR after SPCC. I will now use SCNR before.
