Description

These shots were taken in JPEG format by accident.    Even the calibration frames were in JPEG.  Initially, I tried to stack them anyways to see what I could get.  The vignetting and color calibration issues are so bad that I abandoned the data in frustration.  I'm revisiting some of this data now a year later to see what I can do with it.  I decided to lean into the rainbow colors that it caused and I think they turned out pretty cool looking, even though they're far from realistic.

These were taken out at Enchanted Rock TX on an amazingly clear calm night, which makes my settings mistake hurt so much more.  The first thing I always do is set the quality to raw, disable all the other noise reduction, stabilization and other features off.  After setting these settings and taking my test shots, I opened an intervalometer app on the camera (Sony a6000) and proceeded to configure the duration and frequency of the shots.  Unfortunately, opening this app had it's own quality setting which was set to JPEG instead of RAW.  I didn't find out until the next day.  Lesson learned the hard way.
