The bright, blue reflection nebula, vDB 31 is embedded in a train of dark nebulae, as shown by the annotated image below. The nebulae lie about 470 light-years away. The bright star (AB Aurigae), illuminating vDB 31 is only millions of years old, and observations by the Hubble Space Telescope indicates that it has a flattened clumpy dust ring surrounding it--a planetary system in progress!
