Description

PGC 26572 is about 380 million light years away and is about 110 thousand light years across (SIMBAD and NED). See also Aladin Sky Atlas. The image scale is 0.435 arcsec/pixel.

This is an experiment which shows what kind of resolution and depth can be achieved using 72 hours integration from a dark sky location. The same data was used as in my recent image of NGC 2841:

Outer regions of NGC 2841

PGC 26572 is a small galaxy in the upper right corner of this image:

NGC 2841 Deep Field

Revision B is a comparison with SDSS9 image of this galaxy, which was taken with a 2.5 meter telescope. I think that my Celestron EdgeHD 11 did well

Thanks for looking,
Vitali
