Description

One of the most challenging objects I've imaged yet! I was really surprised at how much exposure time was needed to bring out any significant detail. Overall I'm pleased with it, it's certainly better than the version I captured a year ago when I first started out in this hobby.

M78 is a very faint, diffuse reflection nebula in Orion, framed in this image next to a very small portion of Barnard's Loop - most likely an ancient supernova remnant.

Description: I hadn't bothered with darks because I was using bias frames - but had a lot of noise showing up in the previous versions. Added a set of darks for this version which resulted in a less noisy and smoother image.
