Description

As cliche as it is to complain about the weather, it's been over 5 weeks since my last image and i was getting really concerned that i would lose the opportunity to image Orion this year. The constellation's position is unfortunately obstructed by trees and power lines in my backyard, which gives me only a very brief imaging window every night.

That being said, this is my very first attempt at combining narrowband and RGB data using a mono setup. Processing the image took a lot of trial and error, and a fair share of online tutorials and videos. I really enjoyed the learning process, and my utility belt is now a few tools and scripts richer as a result.

In the end, i'm pretty happy with the final result. I was hoping for some more integration time, but coordinating imaging sessions between cloudy nights, moon phases, and frigid winds took its toll on me and i decided that i've reached the "good enough" stage .
