Description

This is a 2 panel Mosiac taken the night before last using Ha and OIII filters.  This is a pretty tough target to process as the Ha can be very bright and can look blown out or even like a water color is you are not careful.  But I do love the contrast of colors in this image created by the two main gases located in this complex.  I used APP to combine the Ha and OIII images.  The first image used APP's HOO2 preset and the second used APP's HOO1 preset sliders.  I like the star color better in the HOO2, but I think the fainter parts of the nebulas show up better in HOO1.  I think both look decent and is you zoom in, I love all the delicate filamentary details that showed up.

This complex is actually 3 large nebulas' that are remnants of a supernova explosion that happened between 5,000 and 8,000 years ago.  It is known by different names, the Cirrus Nebula, the Bridal Veil Nebula or simply the Veil Nebula.  Included in this complex are the Eastern and Western Veil Nebulas.
