A broadband representation of the Pacman Nebula. This was actually a test image after I disassembled my scope and reassembled and collimated it. I was trying to find a solution to the weird star shapes I'd been getting. Turns out the mirror was clamped down too tight (from the factory). I now have consistent star shapes in all corners. They're still elongated, but that's a matter of tweaking the back focus. A story for another time, no doubt.
I wanted to do broadband because I love the natural colors of the night sky. I really like the result I got, despite using my noisy DSLR on a hot summer night. It's really itching to switch over to an astro cam. I also can't help but wonder if I may have gotten more of the finer details with a dedicated astro cam. That too is a story for another time, hopefully
