This bubble surrounds a Wolf-Rayet star that is in its brief pre-supernova phase. As the bubble expands, it is encountering debris from an earlier, similar event. The nebula apparently formed just 70,000 years ago and is reported on a Hubble web page as consisting of ionized hydrogen, but considerable OIII also exists, as this data set shows.

This image shows the distribution and colors of the isolated emission lines (Ha and OIII) with the continuum flux removed. My color-mapping of the Ha and OIII lines is described in previous images, or contact me for more information. The L-channel of this image is from the ratio of OIII/Ha with a small amount of L introduced from the emission-line image.

The image was color-calibrated using Pixinsight’s photometric method, and a battery of Topaz programs provided most of the post-processing.
