Description

Well thanks to the continuing bad weather I have been busy experimenting with different methods of processing. So you are probably sick of me posting this target but….On one of my recent posts of another version of this target, I received some feed back that some preferred the more natural colours as captured rather than changing pallet etc. etc.I went back to the drawing board (so to speak) and processed again, but avoiding changing pallet, over saturation and hue etc. There is some saturation in there, but was careful to not do too much, some slight tweaking of colour ie: a bit lighter here, a bit darker here etc. and generally trying to make sure not overdoing any aspect. What you see is pretty much what the camera captured with some slight adjustments in colours and trying to make sure I did’t over sharpen etc.Like all things in Astrophotography I imagine some will love it and others not so much, but a big part is interpretation and artistic aesthetics and I have to say I don’t mind this one. Personally I love zooming in and seeing all the details in the gas clouds etc.. It still blows my tiny brain away that we can get to capture such amazing objects like the Fighting Dragons of Ara. PS - Thank you for the feedback, I do appreciate it. Always good to know what others eyes see. Now, as the young people say, the deets; NGC6188 - The Fighting Dragons of Are, in the constellation of Ara.It is approximately 4,000 lights years away and about 600 light years across.36 x 300 second subs, 3 hours totalZwo ASI294MC ProWilliam Optics GT 71 telescopeZwo AM5 MountWilliam Optics 50mm Uniguide scopeZwo ASI90MM Mini guide cameraAntlia Triband RGB filter (Which helps boost blue channel and makes things a bit interesting to process)Zwo ASI PlusDark skies at Sea Lake Members Astrofest, June 2023Processed in Pixinsight and Adobe Photoshop Beta 2023 on Apple M1 16” MacBook Pro, Mac OS Ventura
