Description

The Seagull Nebula (IC 2177), which forms the "head" of the eponymous nebula bird, is located about 3,650 ly away from earth, and is accompanied in the sky by a diverse range of interesting objects: emission nebulae, reflection nebula, star clusters and dust clouds.

This image was captured using a OSC with only a UV/IF filter, and I plan on capturing more data with a dual-band filter to bring out more of the emission nebulosity, but I also think the RGB data in this area is just gorgeous.

I hope you enjoy!

Title: Integration of dual-narrowband data with RGB image

Description: This is my first attempt at integrating narrowband data from the IDAS NB1 filter with my original RGB image. I think it turned out pretty nice!

I only managed to collect about 2 hours of the narrowband data before clouds rolled in, so I will continue adding to this in the future.
