Description

Measuring 2.4' with a magnitude of 11.6, NGC 2139 is a bulgeless barred spiral galaxy approximately 84 million light years away in the constellation of Lepus.

According to researchers, the galaxy hosts a "nuclear-cluster-to-be" - a star cluster close to its centre that is younger and less massive than any nuclear star cluster studied so far.
