Description

Here is my version of SH2-132. This is only my second mosaic. Panel A to the left and Panel B to the right. After the necessary cropping, the image is 5000px wide. The Lion Nebula is located in the Cepheus constellation. Maybe you see a lion in this celestial cloud with the head to the left and the body, legs, and tail extending to the right. This object's 30 arc-minute apparent size corresponds to 16 light-years.

This night sky feature is estimated to be ten thousand light-years distant.  Although unseen in this image the Wolf-Rayet stars radiating this area are 2 of an estimated 220 known in our galaxy. At this phase of a star's life, they may eject material at an estimated 3,000 km/s.
