Description

Continuing to play with the HST legacy data after learning how to access the raw subs from blue at 390 nm, green at 475 nm, and red at 600 nm. Those filters are predominantly UV, blue and yellow/orange, but I mapped them to RGB. Calibration data is not there, mosaicing and old wide field camera stars are not so aesthetically pleasing, but the detail is still amazing to see at f/24.
This is Arp 273, some interacting galaxies. The larger of the spiral galaxies, known as UGC 1810, has a disk that is tidally distorted into a rose-like shape by the gravitational tidal pull of the companion galaxy below it, known as UGC 1813

PS: This is auto-watermarked, if public data should be watermarked otherwise, let me know in the comments.
