Description

Jones-Emberson 1,  also known as the headphone nebula or Pk 164+31.1,  was discovered in 1939 by Rebecca Jones and Richard M. Emberson. It is a magnitude  14 planetary nebula located 1600 light years from Earth, in the constellation Lynx. It is relatively large but has a low surface brightness. The 16.8 magnitude central star is a very blue white dwarf. [1]

The initial lights were less than ideal and took considerable processing#. The revision includes new RGB and additional Ha and OIII lights. This was much easier to process and shows better detail of the outer strands or rings.
