Description

First light for my new telescope. The conditions were far from perfect. In the north of Germany the nights are already very short and bright. In addition, the moon was almost full. But I really wanted to test my new telescope. The test wasn't really successful either. Despite the corrector, I had badly warped stars at the edge areas. With Photoshop's lens correction, I was still able to save the picture halfway. Nevertheless, I would like to share the result with you.

M101 is a face-on spiral galaxy 21 million light-years away from Earth in the constellation Ursa Major. It was discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1781 and was communicated that year to Charles Messier, who verified its position for inclusion in the Messier Catalogue as one of its final entries.
