Description

Messier 15 is a globular cluster in the constellation Pegasus, one of the most densely packed globular clusters known in the Milky Way galaxy.  It is approximately 33,600 light-years from Earth, and is 175 light-years in diameter.  It has undergone core collapse; it's core has contracted into a central density cusp that may surround a black hole.  The cluster has 12 known variable stars, eight pulsars, and at least one double neutron star system, M15-C.  There are also two bright X-ray sources, M15 X-1, and M15 X-2.
