Description

I have been patiently waiting since the beginning of the year for any clear skies to do a shoot.  This comet became the hot ticket the last couple weeks and I thought I was going to miss out.  Unfortunately, its season here was almost gone when I finally had a single night of average transparency and below average seeing to work with.  The comet was setting the same time as the sun and my window to shoot was just above the horizon.

Note the darker gray band right before 21:00.  Those 30 mins in that tiny gray triangle area were enough to get 24 usable subs.

The clouds were also rolling in on the horizon the last 10 minutes of that window.  You can see them in the right hand side of the photo.  I decided to keep them as I thought it added some interest of the comet coming through and away from them.

I also did not have a OSC, so I prioritized the green filter, but got a few of LRB to round out the tail a bit.  It is faint, but I'm happy I didn't miss out on this 71 year event.

Hope you like it and appreciate the challenges I had to get it.

T.
