Hola. Hoy presento un elemento un tanto atípico, pero muy interesante. Me refiero a Reiner Gamma, un accidente morfológico y de albedo situado cerca del crater Reiner y el cráter Marius. Es una zona con una forma curiosa, de unos 70 km, en parte ovalada. Su origen no esta claro, aunque podría ser de origen cometario. Es una zona de potente magnetismo, hasta el punto de crear una pequeña magnetosfera a su alrededor capaz de desviar las partículas del viento solar que es el que ocasiona en gran medida el oscurecimiento de la superficie lunar, de hay el color claro que presenta. Tiene patrones arremolinados, similares a otras zonas que también presentan anomalías magnéticas, como en el Mare Marginis por ejemplo. El mejor momento para observarlo es hacia el quinto día del cuarto creciente.
