Description

The Heart Nebula, shot in HOO with RGB stars overlaid.  I'm making more progress in blending the RGB stars without artifacts or halos around them.  The StarXTerminator star removal tool makes it MUCH easier to process compared with the StarNet++ tool.  Being able to remove the stars on the linear image before stretching really helps the processing workflow. I can stretch the image much more aggressively without worrying about star bloat or OIII blue halos around brighter stars. And in this image, I applied a deconvolution to the Ha frame with no stars present, using a parametric PSF.

Still a work in progress - my OIII channel is much more noisy than the Ha, leading to a lot of bluish noise in the background which I tried to minimize here with TGV.

20x 1200s Ha
20x 1200s OII
25x each 90s RGB for the stars
